Kaya and Cheap Asleep At The Lift

Many thanks to all the people who've been checking out this site. If you're new here, check out this post. There's a lot going on with the site, so stay a little while and have a look around. If you're wondering what the picture above is all about...that's Kaya (scroll down for more on Kaya) and the little guy on his shoulder is Cheap. This was taken at The Lift the morning after a night of good music. Hi Kaya!

Make sure you read the post below this one. No joke...please do not drive a car while under the influence. Take a cab, sleep at a friend's or stay sober.

Much Love and Respect,
Believe

Pranayuga Underground Massive

This is Kaya. And this is the back of his t-shirt. Normally I would have asked his permission to post this photo, but since he has not contacted me since I left San Francisco I am guessing that he has no problem doing whatever I please with his image. If he does have a problem, he can easily contact me (hint, hint) at pranayuga@gmail.com and ask me to remove this photo. Until he contacts me I will proceed to post more photos of Kaya...each one more revealing than the next. If you see Kaya please notify him of this situation.

If you don't know who Kaya is...let me explain. Kaya is someone who helped shape Pranayuga in many ways with his positive outlook on life. He brought a much needed injection of drum and bass action to our scene. Many headz out there remember his late night dj sets even to this day. He broke onto the scene with an unmatched exuberance for electronic music that I will always remember. He was never in it for the money...only the music and the love.

I'm hoping that someone out there will sit him down at a computer and have him email the Pranayuga Crew. Until then, big ups to the Pranyuga Underground Massive and much love to Kaya!!!

Believe

P.S. Don't forget to scroll on down and check out Impure Cell. And if you haven't already done so, make sure to take a look at the June 2005 Archive by clicking on the link found on the right hand side of the screen. If you're new to this whole thing there might be something you missed.

Impure Cell

If you were lucky enough to witness Impure Cell's set at the last Pranayuga event...well, you were lucky. It's unfair to put his music into a category, but according to the man himself his music is for fans of Weeeeeeee Beep Beep Woooooooooooo. Make sure to check out his website by clicking here.

Don't forget to download and listen to his selection of free mp3s.

I will leave up a link at the right side of the screen so you can get a dose of Impure Cell anytime you need one. I'm looking forward to having some more photography from this artist to post on our site. This man takes some amazing pictures with his camera-phone. If you're in the Bay Area keep an eye out for Impure Cell...he has been known to put together some mind-blowing shows at Petaluma's Phoenix Theater.

Beep. Blip. Click. Kerchunck.

UPDATES> I've added a feature to this site that will allow you to email a post to a friend. Just click on the little envelope icon at the bottom of a post and go from there. Also, I've opened an email account for Pranayuga. The address is pranayuga@gmail.com. I'll be checking the account occasionally. One more thing...there is a new link to a Pranayuga photo gallery over in the links section. Check it out and then start sending me your artwork and photography!

Pranyuga: Baja Outpost

Friends and Family,

It's getting hot and humid here in Baja as we're gearing up for hurricane season. We're also making sure to keep Pranayuga alive and well. There are several new posts below this one...make sure you click on the image so you can see more detail. I am constantly blown away by the artwork you produce! Keep it coming and I will post as much of it as I can. I'm sorry that the layout of this site isn't better, but I'm working with the limitations of the Blogger format.

The Blogger format puts the most recent posts at the top of the page, so if you haven't checked in for a while make sure you scroll on down and have a look. If you're new to this website click here. Also, I am always adding new links, so make sure to have a look over at the right hand side of the screen and see if there's a link you haven't seen before.

Make sure to check out the Kokua site I'm working on. I'll be posting photos and stories of past adventures, so send me your stuff! I'd like to thank Michael for all the effort he has put into the project. How he can pull off these miraculous volunteer projects is beyond me. Let's all send our love and respect to the master of making the impossible a reality...Faith! Make sure you check out his post further down this page.

The photo above was taken from inside the Baja Pranayuga Outpost. Make sure to click on the image and check out the details...the photo on my desktop was taken in Taiwan by Jason Dunn. I put it up as my wallpaper months ago and haven't been able to take it off...it's just too cool. Thanks Jason!

You can always comment on a post by clicking on the comments link at the bottom of any post. Please take a little time and show your appreciation!

Many Blessings,
Believe

P.S. It would appear that Purple Bear has hacked the Pranayuga Weblog. I'm not sure how he got into the system, but he is in and making rouge posts with my username. Already he has posted a photo of himself below. I'm taking measures to stop this from happening in the future, but as we all know Purple Bear is incredibly computer savvy and extremely persistent. I have a feeling that there will be many more posts from the Pranayuga animal contingent...

Old times never fade...

Yo kids,

You all are truly in my heart all the time. I'll never forget taking over Secret Studios. That night with the fog machine was the bomb. Those poor souls that worked there that other night when we were still rockin' way past time when we should have been gone. The fact that I was a hero in the place and we rocked it harder than the death metal band next door to me!

Man, I live those days in my heart here in Hawaii all the time...

old times never fade...they are always stong in the heart.

props to Clint and Marly for creating and contributing to this site
so that we can all stay together!

Bless,

Faith

Welcome to the Pranayuga Community!

Friends and Family,

Today marks the day that I started sending out emails to the Pranayuga Community and officially announced the presence of this site. I'd like to thank all of the people out there who contributed to Pranayuga events in the past and let you know how much I miss you. It seems a lot of us got spread across the globe in one form or another and it's been difficult to connect. I guess that's ultimately the reason for this site. I want to connect and re-connect with the beautiful people of Pranayuga. I would love to hear your thoughts, see your artwork and share your positive energy with the world. My plan is to get a full-blown website up and running by the end of this year that will feature our animation, artwork, music, photography, writing and video. In the meantime, this blog is what we've got to work with.

What is a blog? A blog (or weblog) is defined as a frequently updated personal online journal. If you have a computer and basic computer skills you can publish your own blog very easily. There are literally millions of blog sites out there covering every topic you can think of. My first introduction to the world of blogs was when I asked a friend of mine what the slogan "I'm Blogging This" printed on her t-shirt meant. She explained to me what a blog was and then proceeded to criticize the practice of publishing the mundane details of a person's life onto the web. She was pretty cynical about the whole thing and was wearing the t-shirt to express her disdain of all things blog. For more cynicism check out the definition of 'blog' found in the Urban Dictionary.

So why a blog? Well, it's a heck of a lot easier and less expensive to publish a blog site than it is to produce and maintain a full-blown website. We can't post music or videos on this type of website, but we can post artwork, photos and writings. Until I can put together a 'real' website this is what we'll have. Believe will act as editor, moderator and chief contributor and Faith and Squirrelz are on board as weblog contributors. If you have anything you want to contribute please send me an email and let me know what you've got. Also, if you know of any other great websites out there, send me the link and I can post it on this site. In the spirit of Pranayuga let's keep this space positive.

That's all for now. In the future, I promise never to use the word 'blog' as much as I did in this post.

Much Love and Respect,
Believe
